Day 6 of our Caliofrotnia Adventure: The entire day was to be spent at Disneyland, beginning first with Downtown Disney.
The first thing they did was run over to TomorrowLand to ride the famous, or infamous, in some cases, Space Mountain. Nessa, Vision, and I didn't get the chance to go with them, as the purse and other bags were passed along to the eldest female human, who didn't have a strong sense of adventure or stomach as the others.
After that, it was ride after ride, landmark after landmark, all of which we dolls were fortunate enough to be there for. It was an experience unlike any other. I thought that I might have bad memories of Disney, after being bullied by the Thor dolls for so long, but Land was different than I remembered World to be. It was small, yet charming, and the humans were able to do a lot of things easily before the lines got enormous. (Which, no surprise, happened at Splash Mountain.)
The day at Disney was meant to be carefree and absent of plans, and there was no better time to be spontaneous than to try Dole Whip for the first time and watch the Pixar Fest parade.
I now know what the humans mean when they say that "It's a Small World" is the creepiest ride of all time. It was unclear whether the dolls used were sentient or not when all the humans were gone... but none of us wanted to think about that. Why these humans think that Small World is a requirement is beyond me.
A more pleasant experience came with a ride the "Storybook Land Canal Boats" which no longer fit anyone's age group in the family, but the miniatures were all intricate and interesting. Nessa commented that she would definitely want to live in one of the castles. And in case you were wondering about the scale of these castles, there is a mallard duck seen next to a tiny tree in the second picture.
They toured Main Street, USA for a while, going in and out of giftshops, but no dolls would be coming home with us this time.
Nightfall in the park would come quickly, so the humans decided it was time to leave. Nessa was outraged.
"Wait, wait, you're missing the best part! The fireworks!" She squealed, not masking her emotions whatsoever.
"It's too early for fireworks," She said, making sure to keep her voice low. "It's not even dark yet."
"But-but-you can stay a little longer! I've always wanted to see Disney fireworks!"
"Oh, trust me, you'll see them later. We've booked a hotel in Anaheim."
Nessa went silent. "Have you really?"
"Yes. Not with view of the castle, but surely of the sky. Your wish will be granted, Nessa."
The final hotel was the Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel... quite a mouthful, but also quite beautiful. The humans had a room on the first floor, close enough to get a good view of the landscaping and the skyline, where the fireworks would be when the darkness came. In the meantime, She had a promise to keep. The humans planned to visit the pool as one final "hurrah" to their California trip, and She told us there would be enough time for Olaf to call Idina if She returned to the room early to "get a shower". That sounded alright to Olaf, but then She promised something else.
She would be taking Nessa, Vision, and I on an unofficial tour of arguably the most romantic hotel we had ever seen.
